A designer that has always been inspired by the world’s cultures, John Galliano frequently referenced different ethnicities in his designs. Eskimo and Mongolian motifs served as the basis for the creation of the Fall 2002 collection. This eclectic collection was full of patchworked and embroidered pieces, and the diversity of techniques and materials surprised even devoted fans of the designer. Salmon skin was one of the most fascinating materials used for the production of several pieces. This unusual and sustainable material was implemented into the collection under the direction of Elisa Palomino who was working as head of the design studio at John Galliano.
One of the best pieces from the collection made from fish leather, this stunning bag has a beautiful embroidery and a long adjustable strap. Featured in Fall 2002 fashion show, this rare bag is one of the best pieces of our archive.
