Jean Paul Gaultier Spring-Summer 1999 ready-to-wear collection was inspired by antique sculptures and oriental traditional outfits. This combination, unexpected at first glance, looked very organic on the runway thanks to the stunning styling choices. In addition to the recognizable iconic Venus trompe l’œil print, one of our favorite parts of the collection was the use of the brand's traditional mesh in different variations and techniques. This transparent black mesh long sleeve mini dress is one of such pieces. The dress combines a very minimal mesh material and a beautiful red lace detailing on the cuffs and hem featuring a grape pattern.
