For his Fall 2004 Ready-to-wear collection Jean Paul Gaultier used marionettes instead of real models. Though, there still were some models who wore masks to look like walking mannequins. Working from a gantry erected onto the catwalk, Gaultier's puppeteers twirled their subjects round, even getting them to strike a few poses. In a season where coats and jackets are shaping up to be more desirable than they have been in years, the designer's canny, commercial collection featured some of the best from his past, which looked just as good now.
One of the standouts of the collection is this fur lined jacket imitating a Prince of Wales patterned blazer. A jacket has two big front pockets, belts and a stunning fur collar. There are some inserts of the print imitating wrinkled fabric fragments from another piece.
