Jean Paul Gaultier Spring-Summer 2008 Mesh Top

Slinky, tattooed mesh tops will undoubtedly always be associated with only one designer - Jean Paul Gaultier. His slightly transparent genderless mesh pieces introduced in the early 90s, received a new wave of success not only among modern celebrities, but still remain to be sought-after items among the brand admirers.
As seen on the runway of SS2008 menswear collection, the print is the reinterpretation of a painting by French artist Pierre Auguste Cot called The Storm (La Tempête) (1880). The painting portrays a young couple running for shelter in a rainstorm.
This Jean Paul Gaultier mesh long sleeve top with the same print in blue, golden and brown is a rare find and a perfect piece for an archive collection.
