Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2003 Bondage Puffer Jacket

The transformation of everyday pieces into high fashion has always been at the core of Jean Paul Gaultier’s designs. Taking inspiration from street wear certainly helped create some of the iconic pieces that remain recognisable to this day.
The star of Gaultier’s Fall 2003 collection, a runway bondage puffer jacket is certainty one of the most popular pieces in the vintage community now. And it’s understandable! A basic puffer looses its shapeless silhouette and becomes a unique piece, deserving of a runway moment, with the help of bondage straps with clasp closures lashed tight around the body and cuffs. A black version of the jacket looks very modern, and we sometimes forget it’s been almost 20 years since it’s creation.
